I decided to make another Wonder Woman painting (with the good old costume, not the lame new one) , to see what have changed in my skills since I painted her last year. Ended up making something completely different.
Hi, it is a very remarkabe work. From the technical point of view, it is nearly perfect. The composition of the used color, the highlights an the shadows fits together very well. I like the half traansparency of her silky dress and the metal amour. The background is vey simple, but this is okay, so the watchers view follows the girl. The magic lasso looks very awesome and fits good into the hand. From my point of view, the position of the head could be a little bit more right. The view angle is good. Because she is athletical, maybe the trapezius muscle, which shapes the triangular form between neck and sholder, could be a little bit larger, appears stronger.
I hope this will be useful for you. Maybe this will bring the artwort from an expert level nearly to a perfect shot.
In my opinion, this is be what the costume should look like if there were to be a Wonder Woman motion picture, with the addition of the a very detailed crimson red star on her tiara. Add that, along with a great screenplay, production, effects, and the ideal woman for the role, you have my ticket. Thanks for the great interpretation.
Oh, wow! I remember when I was two years old I used to watch the TV show of Wonder Woman and I wanted to be just like her when I grew up. I always thought she was so beautiful, strong, and smart! I saw your rendition of her here and it totally made me smile very much. You have captured everything I ever loved about the character, and even made her extra pretty and super girly feminine as well as being super strong and powerful. I love it, I love it, I LOVE it! Your superhero characters are all brilliant.
there's nothing wrong with your wonder woman. i think you have a very unique way of drawing things, and perhaps people relate less with it than with a more "realistic" version. the problem is with people, as always, not with your work.
Fantastic work!! Heroic yet serene pose. Great texture and lighting! I especially love the light effect of her lasso! Only thing is you missed the star that is usually on her tiara (not sure if you did that on purpose or not) but it still looks good anyway WELL DONE!
I've been staring at this piece for at least the past five minutes trying to come up with something to say but I still find myself speechless. As a diehard Wonder Woman fan, I feel compelled to say that this is quite possibly the most amazing piece I've seen done of the Amazing Amazon.
I love the softness to her expression and how at ease she seems. Her eyes are gorgeous and look shockingly realistic. Her hair is equally as beautiful and the way in which it sweeps across into the wind is awe-inspiring. I love how natural it looks. The pose is nice as well, it's simple and has an air of gentility about it which I feel works well for the character. An aspect of this piece that drew me to it was her costume. It's different and yet still quite classic. Though I really don't like the idea of Diana in a skirt I feel this one is constructed so well that it would still be practical in battle. I love the gold trim and the two different sizes of stars that line the bottom of it. The material of her body is really well done and the armour looks quite realistic. And that lasso? You did a great job painting it. It's precisely how I'd imagine it looking in real life.
thanks a lot for your long comment! people usually write things like "oh, awesome", or "nice!"... and that doesn't really means a lot if they don't point what they like and what they don't. wonder woman is a character i don't really like. i try to paint characters i don't like, in ways that i would like... the concept of a greek-like character wearing a costume that is pretty much the USA flag seems a lot biased and out of context to me. u feel like the costume is different because i tried to make it feel less like the north american flag, lol
The reason why Princess Diana wears the US flag is explained the narrative in her stories and it is given special meaning. In the post-Crisis continuity, the Amazons made the costume as a tribute to a pilot who came to their island and gave her life to protect them. She wore a US flag on her jacket and they took this to be her "symbol" or what have you. Other interpretations say that Di wears that design because it is a sign of respect to the country in which she is visiting.
It's too bad that you don't really like Wonder Woman. I've always found her to be one of the most inspirational heroes out there especially in the modern context. She didn't hide behind a secret identity and instead used her status as an Ambassador to give lectures and do charity work along with saving the world. She's a "talk first, punch second" kind of girl whose great heart and compassion set her apart from the sullen Batman.
droooool wow! the colors and lighting are superb. the pose is great. the only thing that i could dare mention as possibly off, is the left hand fingers. something is a bit stiff in the hand pose. i only noticed because all the hands i draw look stiff so i am always looking for that. but its much better than any of mine. Over all I love it.
